Melody Moody Thortis
Melody Moody Thortis has over 18 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations. During that time, she has served as an Executive Director, Development Director, Community Outreach Coordinator, Event Planner, Community Organizer, Board Member, Public Speaker, Workshops Facilitator and Consultant. She holds an M.A. in Advocacy and Human Rights and has extensively studied leadership, community development, publicy policy, advocacy, and program planning - including fundraising, strategic planning and SWOT analysis. Melody has personally raised over 1.5+ million dollars through individual fund development, grant writing and corporate sponsorships and throughout her professional career has led multiple organizations through fundraising strategy, organizational re-structuring, branding, board development and the strategic planning process. As a professional event planner, she has organized community festivals, statewide conferences and has led over 40 workshops and outreach events.
I am passionate about helping people become more effective in their work to make a difference in the world. Because of this, I specialize in offering services to small nonprofits, individuals and groups looking to increase their charitable capacity. Through workshops, trainings and personal consulting, I work with my clients to develop tailored strategies and campaigns that will help you and your organization become even more effective in your effort to create social change.
